MPI Research Selects ISIToolBox® to Prepare Sponsor
Companies for Electronic Submissions
ISIToolBox Helps MPI Research Cut eCTD Submission Time in Half
Whippany, NJ (August 7, 2007) – Image Solutions Inc., (ISI), a leader in providing software and
services to streamline the drug development lifecycle, announced today that MPI Research has selected ISIToolBox® to help manage electronic submissions on behalf of sponsors who are filing electronic common technical documents (eCTDs) with regulatory agencies. ISIToolBox®, which is currently used by the top 25 global pharmaceutical companies, will help MPI Research simplify its
processes for creating, editing and managing regulatory compliant documents.
ISIToolBox® provides a set of more than 40 PDF plug-ins designed to make companies work with PDFs faster and easier while eliminating the challenges, cost and work involved in preparing electronic documents for report-level publishing. It has been shown to achieve efficiency gains of almost 70% in file preparation time and 75% reduction in the time needed to conduct quality
assurance of a submission, thus achieving faster market approval. Early metrics show that MPI is cutting its average document preparation time almost in half – a huge benefit to sponsors.
“MPI has a strategic goal to be ahead of the curve in responding to agency eCTD requirements,” said Mary Ann Scott, Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs at MPI Research. “ISIToolBox® not only helps MPI meet the needs of our sponsors to be compliant with agencies that accept eCTDs,
but it is also saves time and helps us quickly and easily create reports and studies in required formats.
MPI Research, a privately held company that focuses on the non-clinical research needs of the pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, agricultural and related industries, chose ISIToolBox® in order to help the company ensure high quality, on-time research that adds value to the process of developing products in a regulated environment.
“We are very pleased that MPI Research has chosen ISIToolBox® as the definitive choice to help the company streamline its ongoing research,” said Paul Chung, Senior Vice President of ISI Software & Services Operations. “ISIToolBox® has a proven track record with the world’s top pharmaceutical companies and ISI plans to continue to advance the industry with our full line of products and services.”
ISIToolBox® is one of the most robust Adobe Acrobat plug-in tool sets in the pharmaceutical industry. It allows users to bookmark documents instantly or create thousands of hyperlinks with just one click. In addition, ISIToolBox® enables automated validation and the maintenance of
Quality Assurance logs down to the link or bookmark level. On-the-fly Optical Character Recognition makes editing scanned pages and text easy, and can enable the extraction of text and graphics simply by dragging a box around the content needed.
ISIToolBox® 6.0 will be released in 4th quarter 2007 and will include new functionality from its product Compose, creating the most powerful set of PDF plug-ins in the industry. With the products’ combined functionality, there will be an even more efficient process for bookmarking and hyperlinking. ISI purchased the software business unit from InfoData in 2005, which included Compose and AnnoDoc, an annotation solution.
