Image Solutions Releases AnnoDoc 2.1, an Annotation Technology for Enterprise Content Management and Regulatory Compliance

Whippany, NJ (April 7 , 2006) - Image Solutions Inc., (ISI) a global technology company and a leader in providing software solutions and services for electronic regulatory document submission and clinical trials management, announced today the release of their advanced annotation technology software AnnoDoc 2.1. This latest version provides an open architecture for multiple client types and content repositories and ties the annotation function to document publishing, which is extremely useful when compiling regulatory submissions. Also new is the ability to distinguish between annotation authors and owners, versioning of annotations, consolidation of annotations, along with improved audit trails and search capabilities.

ISI’s market leading annotation technology solves many of the issues associated with complex content review cycles and is the premier product for meeting the increasingly restrictive compliance regulations found in many of today’s extended enterprises. As organizations continue to face accelerating change caused by regulations, the need for powerful annotation technology has increased to satisfy today’s strict compliance challenges. One challenge is the fact that content is maintained in various content formats (.pdf, .doc .xls, .ppt, .jpg, .tif, .gif, etc) and is found in multiple content repositories. To be effective, users must be able to utilize a single annotation technology to review multiple file types and connect to the numerous content stores where the content resides, all from a single client interface.

ISI plans to conduct Webinars on April 18th and April 27th to unveil the most recent functionality associated with the new version. The first Webinar on the 18th will be tailored for EMC’s Documentum users and is fully compatible with Documentum 5.x, including most client types (desktop, webtop, and document compliance manager). The second webinar on the 27th is tailored more for IBM Content Manager users for those users, AnnoDoc is compatible with Content Manager v8.2 and v8.3, which includes the eClient as well as WebSphere Portal Client. In order to register for these webinars, please go to the ISI website homepage: www.imagesolutions.com and click on the link “register for this event”.

AnnoDoc 2.1 is built on a modular client/server architecture that is designed as an “open” solution and works with multiple backend repositories as well as numerous horizontal applications. In addition to providing the first annotation technology to version annotations, AnnoDoc 2.1 also makes the distinction between someone who authors an annotation and someone who owns an annotation. This capability is critical when a user’s roles change within a company, when annotations are imported from external users, or when document editors must consolidate other user’s annotations for final editing purposes. Finally, AnnoDoc 2.1 is the only annotation application that provides the means for users to assign or change access permissions on their annotation objects right from the user interface thus significantly improving review cycle efficiencies.

AnnoDoc 2.1 integrates with both EMC’s Documentum and IBM Content Manager enterprise content management repositories. In a Documentum environment, AnnoDoc is fully compatible with Documentum 5.x releases, including most client types (desktop, webtop, and document compliance manager). In IBM repositories, AnnoDoc is compatible with Content Manager v8.2 and v8.3, which includes the eClient as well as WebSphere Portal Client.

Other supporting applications that have been integrated with AnnoDoc include Liquent’s PDFAqua, FCG’s FirstDocs, and IBM’s SCORE application. It is also compatible with Adobe Acrobat 5, 6 and 7 applications.
