Procter & Gamble Project

With a submission date of January 2000, we were approached by The Procter and Gamble Co. (P&G) in the early part of 1999 to begin this full electronic submission project. This project was to be a joint venture between the Agent -P&G, and the Sponsor - AstraZeneca LP. Being the first full electronic submission for P&G, they were very cautious and extensively prepared detailed information and instructions as to what they wanted to achieve. Therefore, from the very start of the project, we worked very closely together to map out the entire framework and structure of the submission. From the spring of 1999, P&G began sending source documents on a rolling basis as studies and reports were being finalized. This allowed us to begin processing the required navigation within the completed files. With a total submission volume of approximately 50,000 pages, we not only created a fully navigable electronic submission, but we were also able to generate over 250,000 pages for the paper review copies. Working together with P&G and AZLP staff, we manually inserted tabs, created labels, and ultimately bound 3 full paper review copies for a total of 459 volumes with even more additional copies created for some items as requested by the reviewer.
