ISIWriter 101E: ISIWriter Basic Training

Course Description
This four-week certification course introduces users to the primary tools and functions in ISIWriter used to author documents. In this course, students will learn how to author using a content template, format text, and work with tables, figures, landscape sections, cross references, citations, and lists. Students will have the opportunity to join weekly help sessions and work with an ISI trainer to clarify any topics and features. The course culminates in Specialist Certification.

Who Should Attend
This class is designed for anyone using ISIWriter who desire a learn-at-your-own-pace experience to author documents, create templates, and administer the ISIWriter system. Users seeking Specialist Certification should attend this course.

Prerequisites

  • The basic operation and function of Microsoft Windows, Word and Adobe Acrobat
  • Use of a mouse, standard menus and commands
  • Knowledge of guidance related to document authoring
  • Knowledge of eCTD granularity a plus, but not required

Course Length
Four weeks.

Certification
Successful completion of this course is indicated by certification status. As part of this course, students are given three chances to pass a certification exam and receive ISI Specialist Certification. Exams can be taken at any time during the four-week course; however, they cannot be taken until all course material has been viewed. Upon passing the exam, students will receive ISI Specialist Certification in ISIWriter.

Help Sessions
Students have the opportunity to join four weekly help sessions. During these weekly meetings, an ISI trainer will work with students to answer any questions and explain concepts that need further clarification. Help sessions are currently held every week on Wednesdays, from 2 to 3 pm ET.
